Home Sales & Prices Up On Oahu

Sales volume & prices are rising on Oahu

Real estate on Oahu had good news this week as data showed tat home sales and prices were up for September.  Speculation surmises that the reason for the jump is due to low interest rates and the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit.  The Honolulu Board of Realtors released data that showed 244 single family homes sold on Oahu, compared with 215 from September a year ago.  In addition the median sales price went up $10,000 from last year to $600,000.  The good news continues with 345 condos sold on Oahu, compared with 315 a year ago.  The median sales price for condominiums on Oahu also rose from 296,000 in September 2008 to $305,000 in September 2009.

Some real estate professionals attribute the increase in sales and values to a belief that the bottom has occurred.  If you would like to examine Oahu real estate contact John Riggins today.
