Disney Resorts is planning on developing a hotel in Ko Olina, having purchased 21 acres of oceanfront land in the resort area on Oahu.  The hotel will be a part of Disney’s timeshare business, the Disney Vacation Club.  The hotel is slated to be the first hotel by Disney that is not connected with a theme park.  The hotel in Ko Olina is going to have 800 units.  Ko Olina offers true hawaiian beauty, with lush tropical landscape and access to incredible beaches and bays.  Ko Olina, Kapolei and Oahu as a whole have a great opportunity with Disney choosing such a special place for their first non-theme park hotel.  The resort intends to open in 2011 and will create about 1,000 jobs.
