Moving Right Along With Ko Olina; Scheduled Opening Remains 2011

Sea coastWalt Disney Parks and Resorts’ first Hawaiian family destination resort project, Ko Olina, is staying right on schedule to open in 2011. Preliminary site work commenced this past week. Foundation locations have been settled and workers have even started laying underground utilities. These operations are being completed behind a tall construction fence that was put up weeks ago at the twenty-one acre oceanfront site, which is located next to the Marriott’s Ihilani Resort and Spa.

Ko Olina will include three hundred and fifty hotel rooms and four hundred and eighty timeshare vacation villas. Also planned are a pool and water play area for children, an eighteen thousand square foot spa, a children’s club, a convention center and a wedding lawn.
