Initiatory Presidential Town Hall Discusses Hawaii with Candidates

This introductory Presidential Town Hall was so important, as it was devoted to discussing with candidates the affairs of Native Hawaiians. It was orchestrated by APIAVote, a non-profit group that guides the civic participation of Asian Pacific Island Americans in public policy process, for The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) to participate.

Some of the predominant issues discussed with Senators Clinton, McCain and Obama were the economy, the foreclosure crisis, education, immigration, healthcare and housing.

CNHA is an enormous organization with over 170 members, both locally and nationally. Their main calling and purpose is to intensify community, cultural and economic development and support community-based groups that help the Hawaiian Islands and its people. They accomplish this through finding solutions to challenges within the community, by linking resources, helping to develop leaders and training and technical assistance.
