Hoku Scientific Inc. Expanding Idaho Plant

Hawaiian alternative energy company expects great success

While Hoku Scientific Inc. is building a sustainable energy park on Kapolei real estate, it continues its other projects elsewhere. One of them is a polysilicon plant in Idaho that is expected to begin production next year. Now, Hoku Scientific Inc. wants to expand the size of the plant in Idaho to meet expected alternative energy demands. The Star Bulletin reports on the latest news from Hoku Scientific Inc.:

"The schedule targets are in line with our plan to commence polysilicon production in the first half of calendar year 2009 with a ramp-up to full production capacity of 3,500 metric tons per year in the first half of calendar year 2010," Dustin Shindo, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
