Kapolei-Based Nonprofit Receives Grant

Dyslexia Tutoring Center of Hawaii Inc. receives OHA grant

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has offered the Dyslexia Tutuoring Center of Hawaii Inc. almost $400,000. The OHA grant will be used to help the center improve its services and hire new staff. DTCH is a Kapolei-based nonprofit organization that helps school children overcome dyslexia.

Right now, the center only serves about 10 children. But the OHA grant should make it possible to expand offerings to include 32 Kapolei school children. Goals for the Dyslexia Tutoring Center of Hawaii Inc. include eventually setting up tutoring centers on each of the islands.
