Kapolei Real Estate Trend: Renewable Energy on Hawaii Real Estate
Builders and homeowners alike go green in a Kapolei real estate trend
The recent news surrounding the Hawaiian Electric Company move to commercialize photovoltaic power underscores a recent Kapolei real estate trend. The current move in question, an agreement with Hoku Solar Inc. in Kapolei, will only provide the renewable power to between 150 and 200 homes, but it is part of a broader trend in renewable energy and Hawaii real estate. The Star Bulletin reports on this Kapolei real estate trend:
building new ones that incorporate photovoltaic and other renewable
energy sources, combining features that cut power demand. Though
upfront costs might be higher, in the long term, they stand to reduce
utility bills and pollution.
